Our Story

& Then was founded by three couples who love simple, beautiful jewelry and saw an opportunity to share their passion. Among us, we have over a decade of experience in the diamond industry, a designer, a styling professional, and an attorney. & Then formed naturally as we sought to create a simpler and more trusting experience for discovering timeless jewelry and imagining, designing, and creating custom pieces.

How can I get my jewelry resized or repaired?

While & Then doesn’t resize or repair jewelry, we do offer a $200 maintenance credit for engagement rings that you can use to resize, repair, or maintain your jewelry. This credit can be used at any local jeweler that you trust within the first two years of your purchase. If you need your engagement ring repaired or resized within the first two years after purchase, please contact &Then for more information.



What is your return policy?

Every piece of jewelry offered by & Then is hand-made for each individual customer. Because of that, we can not accept returns, exchanges, or trade-ins for store credit. If you are hesitant about an item you are considering purchasing, please contact us. We are more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have!



Does my order include a warranty?

Yes. We stand behind the quality of each piece. All bridal and engagement pieces come with a free lifetime warranty that covers manufacturer defects. In addition, all of our fine jewelry pieces come with a quality guarantee. If there is a defect with any piece, contact us within the first week of receiving it and we will work with you to repair or replace it.

The warranty on bridal and engagement pieces excludes repairs due to user wear and tear. However, we offer a $200 maintenance credit on engagement rings. This credit can be used to resize, repair, or maintain your jewelry any time within the first two years after purchase, and can be used at any local jeweler you trust. What is the difference between a warranty and insurance?

Warranties will cover production defects. Warranties will typically not cover loss or theft, but insurance will. To get a piece insured, you will need an appraisal. All of our custom engagement rings and bridal pieces come with an appraisal free of charge. If you would like an appraisal on any other piece of jewelry, please contact us and we will happily deliver one to you.



Do your diamonds come with certification?

Absolutely. All of our diamonds are ethically sourced, and our center stones come with additional certification from an independent agency. Your certification will include the unique serial number assigned to your diamond, which has been laser engraved onto the side of the stone. While you will receive a physical copy of your certification, you may also look up your stone online using your unique serial number.



What are your financing options?

Simple and straightforward financing is available through our partnership with PayPal. During checkout, select PayLater and follow PayPal’s process to see if you qualify.



What kinds of jewelry can I customize?

Almost anything! Chat with us about what you have in mind, and we can help you customize engagement rings, wedding and anniversary bands, pendants, tennis bracelets, chains, etc.



How long does it take to make a custom ring?

Production on custom rings typically takes 3-4 weeks. We recommend contacting us with your idea at least 8 weeks before you need the piece in order to give us time to collaborate with you, finalize a design, select a center stone, and produce the ring.



How can I be sure I will like the ring I am designing?

The most important part of the custom ring process is your satisfaction. We will do everything we can to make sure you know exactly what you’re going to get when you open your & Then ring box. We will work with you one-on-one as many times as needed to ensure the design is right, provide you with photo-realistic renderings, and offer you the option of trying on a 3D wax model of your ring before finalizing the design.



How do I start the custom process?

Contact us using our custom ring idea form under the “Custom” tab on this website. We will then work with you over text, phone, email, or video conferencing (whichever you prefer) to understand the design you want and create a digital rendering of the piece. We require a $300 non-refundable down payment to produce renderings of your ring. That deposit will go towards the total cost of your ring. Once you are satisfied with the design and ready to order, we can begin production on the ring, at which point 50% of the total cost is due. Full payment is required after production is complete and you’ve approved the finished product. When we have your approval on the finished product and your payment, we will ship the ring to you.
